I have been a teacher for over 20 years, after qualifying in Leeds, and in that time I have taught in primary mainstream and special schools and also tutored on a 1:1 or small group basis. I am also a dyslexia assessor and offer assessments and specialist tuition.
I am very enthusiastic about my work, highly motivated and reliable.
I have a genuine love for learning and wish to pass this on to children. I always aim to make my lessons enjoyable as I believe that the best way children learn is when they are actually enjoying what they are doing.

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully qualified Key Stage 1,2 and Foundation teacher and can teach all primary subjects.
I have prepared many pupils successfully for entrance exams.
I have also prepared pupils for Key Stage 2 SAT's. For the past 5 years I have been a team leader and marked English SAT's.
During the past few years I have worked with autistic children and children with severe and complex learning disabilities.
I have recently undertaken a course leading to specialist teacher status for dyslexic learners so I am able to assist and advice parents who may have concerns about their child in this area. I am also able to carry out an assessment for children who may have dyslexia.Currently I work in a few schools where I tutor children with dyslexia. I am also able to deliver effective and structured handwriting lessons.

I am able to tutor individuals and groups.

I am also able to teach Polish to children/adults.
Tutoring rates are from £20 -£25 for individual tuition at the moment. Removed is £15. Removed is particularly popular for entrance exam tuition.

Tutoring Approach

My goal is to inspire, motivate and create a desire to learn in all pupils I tutor by creating fun and exciting learning experiences.I aim to teach in a friendly,approachable manner. On my first contact with a pupil I will assess them in order to ascertain their needs and gain an understanding of their learning styles. In order to help children I would offer Individualised Learning Programmes, with clear targets, which would be constantly monitored and reviewed.

My ultimate aim would be to prepare and equip children with the knowledge and skills that they need to meet their educational ambitions as well as increase their self confidence and self esteem in order to reach their full potential.
