Therapeutic and SEN experienced educator and mentor
I began my teaching career among child development specialists at a private international school in Beijing. On my return to the UK, I undertook teaching training in the inner city, attending the Institute of Education. Following several years in the classroom, I moved to the local authority, pursuing a handful of different roles in Children's Services. I have worked extensively with SEND and actively with families as part of the children's disability team. Most recently, I have worked with children in the Youth Justice service, building engagement through an open-minded, consistent and therapeutic approach. I am trained and widely read in the field of trauma, with a theoretical and practical understanding of its impact on behaviour. I am able to offer draw and talk and music interventions for all ages as well as regular tuition in my specialist subjects.
I am happy to meet with you informally to see if you would be interested in my services.
Available for a long term daytime commitment on a Thursday.
