I am a mature postgraduate student from China majoring in Education at Bangor University. I have passed my Master‘s degree study and gained the certificate in June 2023. From my Chinese language teaching experience with students aged 5 to 32 years old since 2007, I can support Mandarin learning for students across all key stages.

I have a passion for teaching and supporting students. I designed and developed both online and real classroom motivational teaching materials to stimulate students' interest in Chinese learning, and designed and implemented both formative assessments in the classroom and summative assessments at the end of a term. As a teacher examiner for GCSE Chinese Speaking, I support students in achieving GCSE Chinese exams.

I have extensive expertise in Chinese teaching both Chinese language and culture including calligraphy, Tai Chi (Yang style, WuDang style and Yi style) and Guqin (a traditional seven-string instrument). I am happy to contribute to the schools’ teaching-related and extra-curricular activities, motivating students’ interest in learning.

Keeping good communication with students and parents is my priority to get to know my students’ learning problems and parents’ expectations for teaching. To share good teaching skills, I always cooperate and discuss teaching methods with other teachers. I am willing to become part of the community.

As a lifelong learner, I keep studying constantly to improve my subject knowledge and teaching skills and reflect on my own teaching methods. I am an associate member of the British Chinese Language Teaching Society which gives me opportunities to discuss and learn with other professional educators.
