As Biomedical Sciences graduate with 2 years in a BEng and now finishing an MSc in Molecular Biology, I would like to find new students and help them with everything I can. Throughout my career I was lucky enough to have a lot of different tutors which each taught me different visions on different subjects. Now I would like to give back and be a teacher, which is one of the most rewarding jobs I've tried.
I started teaching English and Maths to both Spanish and Italian speakers. I now have +5 years experience in teaching Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics. I mostly taught kids from 6-18 years. I also taught some adults who wanted to improve their English and learn new skills such as playing the guitar. I have been playing the piano for more than 10 years now.
When teaching a science subject, I like telling a story and I like to explain the meaning of everything and the logic behind something. I think this is why my students have always successfully remembered everything I tell them! I also have a lot of fun games prepared for like, learning the periodic table. I used them myself when I was studying for the International Baccalaureate. Sometimes when you fail repeatedly or just hate a subject, it's a good idea to start little by little and play games, even if you're 16 like I was.
Cancellation terms:
If the lesson is cancelled with less than 3h notice, I need to ask for a cancellation fee equivalent to the lesson's total fee (if the cancellation is for a 1h lesson, it would be 17 pounds, for a 2h lesson, 34 pounds, etc). This doesn't apply in some exceptional cases.
Lastly, if the student is maximum 10 minutes late, I stay longer to make up for the lost time if I can. This is no problem at all. However, given the amount of students I have now, it is hard to reschedule sometimes, but so far I have always been able to reschedule. If the student is more than 10 minutes late, the lesson would then be cancelled and I might ask for a no-show fee, equivalent to the cancellation fee.
