Hi, I'm an English Literature graduate with a 2:1 bachelor's degree from the University of Plymouth. I have 150+ hours of tutoring experience and am extremely passionate about making education and literature accessible and fun to every single student I work with. I've spent time working in schools where I've taught English and Creative Writing to students and have worked with neurodivergent students and those with additional needs. This has allowed me to develop strategies to ensure lessons are 100% tailored to each students' needs, because no two learners are the same. I am fully DBS enhanced checked. Whether it's struggling with the content of the text, essay structure or simply confidence, I am here to help and get you a grade you are happy with, with as little stress as possible and getting enjoyment out of learning. When I'm not tutoring you will find me at a concert, listening to music or reading fantasy books.
Over 175 hours of tutoring experience, both in-person and online Background working in schools and supporting neurodivergent students and those with additional needs Skilled at adapting lessons to different learning styles, building trust, and creating a safe, encouraging space for learners to grow I offer support with: GCSE and A-Level English Literature and Language Essay writing, analysis, and exam preparation Reading comprehension and literary theory University personal statements and coursework feedback Whether you’re aiming to boost your grades, catch up, or deepen your love of literature, I’ll tailor our sessions to suit you. My tutoring style is student-centred, flexible, and results-driven. I believe that with the right support, every student can improve their understanding, confidence, and academic performance—regardless of their starting point.
At the beginning of our sessions, I assess each student’s current ability, goals, and preferred learning style. Whether your child needs help catching up, preparing for GCSE exams, or building long-term confidence, I tailor each lesson to suit their unique needs.
Many students feel overwhelmed by certain topics simply because they haven’t been explained in a way that makes sense to them. I focus on simplifying complex ideas, using real-life examples and interactive methods to make learning more engaging and relatable.
After each session, I provide a brief summary of what was covered, along with personalised feedback. This helps students (and parents) see progress over time and focus on specific areas for improvement.
I regularly integrate past paper questions, timed tasks, and exam-specific techniques into lessons. This helps students feel more confident under pressure and better equipped to apply their knowledge effectively.
Above all, I aim to create a relaxed, positive atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and growing through consistent effort. Confidence is key—and I’m here to help build it.
