I am based in South London (Wimbledon / Morden area).
I am a FULL TIME experienced tutor (with several years experience) in the following subjects:
Maths, Economics and Business Studies. I have experience of tutoring students of all ages from 12 years old onwards. (11+, GCSE, A-LEVELS, IB, UNIVERSITY AND BUSINESS QUALIFICATIONS (IMC, CFA, FINANCE QUALIFICATIONS).
I am also a professional tutor for Financial/Investment Markets qualifications such as CFA, Investment Management Certificate(IMC).
I have over 25 years experience of working in the Investment/Financial markets and can enhance student's understanding of subjects with practical examples of application of theory.
Over the past few years most of my students have achieved A or A* at GCSE and A-Level and gained entries to Russell Group universities to study Maths, Economics, Business Studies and Accounting. I have also helped students gain entry to study for Medicine and Dentistry.
For younger students, I have experience of tutoring for 11+ entrance exams for grammar schools as well as Common entrance exams
I am currently a professional tutor teaching Investment professionals undertaking financial markets examinations such as CFA and IMC.
I also have over 15 years experience of teaching academic subjects such as Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies at GCSE, A-Levels, IB and 11+.
I have material available for all the boards such as AQA, Edexcel, OCR, MEI, WJEC and CCEA.
I have a high success rate and references from past students can be provided for all subjects.
I teach on a one-one basis or in small groups. I encourage my students to "learn" the subjects rather than just be able to pass exams. I believe that teaching in this way makes the student more independent and be better placed when going to university. I also spend a great deal of time on exam techniques in order that the student is able to realise their knowledge and potential in the exams. My style is to be the student's "friend" so that they are not intimidated to ask any question for fear of being seen as "stupid". At the same time I expect my students to be fully committed and be disciplined in their approach to learning. Above all I tailor my lessons to suit the individual student in order for them to fulfil their potential.
In Economics and Business related subjects, I encourage students to engage in discussions related to current environment in order to apply knowledge gained in their studies. With many years of working in the financial markets, I am able to engage students to "connect" theory to the "real world". This is particularly useful in A-Level economics and Business studies evaluation questions. Previous students have found this approach invaluable. The combination of theoretical and practical experience is usually not possible for a school teacher to provide.
