I am currently leading a secondary teacher training programme in London and Hertfordshire, which has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted (2023) and produces some of the UK's very best teachers. I have been teaching Geography for 10 years and majority of my teaching experience follows the AQA specification, but am able to tutor for all specifications.
I focus on delivering a knowledge-rich curriculum that ensures students gain a deep understanding of key concepts. I begin by modelling the skills and thought processes required for each task. This is followed by guided practice, where students actively participate, allowing them to apply what they have learnt whilst receiving immediate feedback. I use scaffolding techniques, providing temporary support that helps students progress and as their confidence grows, this support is then gradually removed.
