Beth

My name is Beth and I have taught for 6 years at secondary school on the Fylde Coast, and have tutored for around 9 years. I love teaching Sciene and since starting maternity leave would like to adapt my working hours to fit around my growing family.

My teaching style mostly focusses on exam technique through using past papers.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught both higher and foundation combined Science at GCSE
I have taught both higher and foundation separate Biology at GCSE
I achieved a highly positive progress 8 this year (meaning students in my class on average achieved 0.33 above their target grade)
I am a lead teaching and learning coach, this means I train teachers within my school to deliver high quality lessons
I am an accredited AQA examiner for GCSE combined Biology and have marked papers for 3 years
On finising University I began tutoring maths and Science, which inspired me to go into teaching.

Tutoring Approach

I use lots of past paper questions to cover exam technique while recapping on knowledge. I create a number of summary resources which aim to consolidate knowledge.
