Berni has just started working with our son, has kept him engaged and willing to learn. Berni has been prompt and helpful in his communication throughout, so we are pleased with his work to date. I'm confident working with Berni will result in the improvements to our son's English work.

Joshua has had 3 lessons so far with Berni, in English and maths and he has enjoyed them all. Berni makes the lesson interesting and fun and Joshua always looks forward to the next lesson.
I would definitely recommend Berni to any other potential tutees.

Berni is a fantastic tutor and my daughter enjoys the Maths and English lessons very much. Berni is knowledgable about the syllabus / school programme requirements and the classes are very well structured. The books and study materials Berni recommended suit us perfectly and he takes 5-10 mins after each lesson to feedback on the progress. I am seeing my daughter’s confidence improving week to week and she always looks forward to the lessons. We could not have wished for more, many thanks!

Berni has taught my 10 year-old son for 13 lessons so far and we are very pleased with him. My son is equally content with Berni as a tutor, he is always positive before each lesson and is ready to learn from Berni, who is very child friendly and well prepared for each lesson, making good use of the time available. Each lesson is productive and the notes from each session help to remind my son what he has learnt. Berni's comments to me immediately after each session, as well as positive feedback from my son, gives me confidence as a parent that I have found the right tutor for my son in preparation for entrance exams.

Berni is excellent tutor. He has just helped my son improved English greatly - from C last term to A this term. It is really amazing. I hope the magic could continue. :p Berni has his own methodological approach and coaches targetedly. He is very professional, active and responsible. He provides his feedback of the progress and effect of each lesson, so that I can understand what is going on and feel quite relieved. Berni is an excellent tutor. He talks so well with his students, in a structured fashion and they learn to reciprocate. He helps them fully the understand literature and creative writing challenges they encounter through delving deeply into language and expression. With my son having produced a D in his English language mocks, Berni worked with him very solidly to deliver a B grade in his GCSEs, which he then used to successfully secure entry to his sixth form of choice. We very much recommend him.

My son needed a little boost before his Classics IGCSE so he went to Berni for a few sessions before his exams. My son said that Berni was great and really helped with exam technique and what to expect. Going over the past papers really helped too and gave him more confidence.

Berni has taught my two daughters for over three months now in English and Maths. The feedback from the girls has been that they enjoy his teaching methods and his patience, the materials he has chosen to teach these subjects has been interesting for them. The results have been that on a day to day basis in the classroom their work has seen real improvement in performance via tests and homework etc… where they are being benchmarked.

I have found Berni friendly and easy to deal with, he has also been accommodating and flexible should a lesson time need to be moved. I would highly recommend him and look forward to him teaching my children in the future.

Our daughter has received tuition from Berni for two years on a weekly basis. In the first year she was studying Greek Art and Architecture, and the Iliad, both subjects at AS level. As her school provided no tuition in these subjects, Berni researched the subject in order to be able to deliver the learning and devised a scheme of work in order for her to be able to cover the subject thoroughly. In the sessions, they would go through the relevant books and he would explain the context and provide analytical points. She passed the subjects at A level.

For the second year, 2018, the subjects taken were Greek tragedy and Roman Epic at A2 level. The examination is set by the AQA board for classical civilization. Again, there is no tuition provided by the school so all the learning was provided by Berni who again carried out the background research.

As well as the set subjects Berni has also made suggestions that have helped with other subjects, e.g. English and drama.

We have no hesitation in acknowledging the fact that Berni has helped enormously with our daughter’s progress, and also in recommending him to others who may be contemplating studying with him.

Berni visited us for our initial meeting and study with my son.
He was very well prepared and had some excellent ideas for how to prepare my son for his GCSEs.
