Hello, my name is Ben.
I am fully qualified Teacher of Science and Physical Education, who has a positive, encouraging and can-do attitude to every aspect of life and learning.
I am driven to assist young people in gaining further understanding and skills in Triple Science and PE. I am a approachable, patient, punctual and consistent person, who understands that every student has a varied learning style and ability, thus
I am able to differentiate every lesson to suit diverse needs. Teaching for me is a dream come true, as to be able to help students build confidence and knowledge is a privilege.
I achieved a Second Class, First Division Honours degree from Staffordshire University, followed up by a Post Graduate Certification of Education from Wolverhampton University.
I have been teaching since September 2020. Within these years, I have taught at four very diverse school which gave me an eclectic set skills which I believe I now use in my everyday teaching and tutoring.
Leading up to my specific teacher training during my PGCE year I also gained further experience in a variety of schools across Staffordshire, this including SEND schools, primary school and secondary schools.
I now teach Triple Science in Secondary school in Staffordshire, which assists in building my essential experience and new teaching skills every day. Since achieving my goal of becoming a full-time teacher, it is my duty to complete consistent professional development courses and areas such as, safeguarding, differentiation and how to achieve the best grades for everyone. These courses which are completed on a regular basis ensures my skills are continuously built upon.
My teaching experience encompasses a wide range of expertise in core PE, science, BTEC (Level 3 and Tech Awards), A-Level and GCSE. I have seen and applied what is required to ensure the highest possible grades are achieved from a theoretical point of view, along with understanding of excelling students across the subjects of PE and science through providing highly inspirational yet challenging lessons, through understanding prior attainment and the needs of individuals.
In addition to my teaching career, I have been tutoring for four years. In this time I have successfully assisted students in hitting their academic goals, and leaving KS3, KS4 and KS5 to become the best they can be personally and academically.
I like to teach with a very open mind, as previously stated I am a firm believer that every students has different knowledge levels and different goals but can all achieve their very best.
I ensure to be patient, calm and understanding. I like to follow, and structured yet fun teaching approach as I believe that students cannot learn unless they are enjoying the lesson and topic being learnt.
Furthermore, I understand that building a rapport with students is of the utmost importance, as for enjoying a lesson; a student must have a good working relationship with their tutor/teacher in order to again, reach their maximum potential.
