Data scientist/statistician with maths Ph.D. (LSE) and over 15 years teaching experience in maths, statistics, machine learning, and programming. Patient and clear.
Several of my students have gone on to become university lecturers/professors and have won prizes.
Each student is different, and I adjust my teaching method depending on their needs.
After consulting with the student I will collect the relevant teaching materials (notes, exercises, past papers, etc) and make a plan. Initial lessons will follow this plan, and after getting a feel for the strengths and weaknesses of the student the plan can be adjusted to match.
I try to engage the student as much as possible by asking questions to make sure they understand, and posing problems for them to solve. I make sure that they learn the key concepts and skills which enable them to more easily master the subject material.
