I am currently working as a software engineer, where I develop software using a variety of programming languages and IT techniques. Alongside my professional experience, I have a strong passion for mathematics, which I studied at the University of Sheffield.
I genuinely enjoy teaching and am eager to share my knowledge with others. My goal is to help students overcome any challenges they may face, while building their confidence and fostering a deeper enjoyment of the subject.
During my time at university, I regularly supported fellow students in understanding difficult concepts, and they consistently found my explanations clear and easy to follow. My patience and ability to break down complex ideas into manageable steps made the learning process more approachable for them, which I found incredibly rewarding.
I have also previously tutored students through FirstTutors, but took a break to focus on my career. Now, I have the time and energy to fully commit to tutoring again, and I am eager to return to this fulfilling work.
My approach to tutoring focuses on ensuring students not only learn the methods but also deeply understand the reasoning behind them. I believe that subjects often become challenging or uninteresting when concepts are taught without sufficient explanation of why they work.
By helping students grasp the ‘why’ behind the process, I aim to spark their curiosity, improve their memory retention, and enhance their ability to tackle a wider range of problems. This approach fosters deeper comprehension and makes the learning experience more enjoyable and meaningful.
