I have a Master Degree in Mathematics and am currently teaching mathematics at a school in North London. I can teach both normal and International Edexcel GCSE and A-Level, up to and including further mathematics. As a teacher I aim to stretch my pupils through problem solving questions to help them achieve as high a grade as possible.
I am currently entering my 13th year as a secondary Maths teacher teaching KS3, GCSE and A-Level Maths and Further Maths. I also have two years experience as a Deputy Head of Year as well as two years experience as deputy and acting head of department. I have experience teaching all ranges of levels and abilities from pupils attempting to pass Maths with a Grade 4/5 to those looking to achieve the highest mark. I have taught in the UK for 7 years and abroad in Dubai for 4 years. I also have experience working with mental health needs having recently worked in a hospital school in the UK.
In order to tailor the sessions to meet the needs of the student I would take the opportunity to assess them using a range of exam style maths questions in the first session. From that I will plan each session to cover their weakest areas of Maths. My main resources will help to improve functional maths style or problem solving questions similar to those that appear in exams.
