I am a 32 year old teacher who enjoys sports, the outdoors and travel. I am a lifelong learner and always enjoy picking up a new challenge or learning about the latest science which I try and incorporate into my lessons. I have worked with a range of students from high achievers hoping to attend Oxbridge to those struggling with the basics and always make a positive difference to students.
I am the lead chemistry practitioner in my school just outside Swindon, I have 8 years of teaching experience and 10+ years of coaching experience. This year (2024) my A-level cohort achieved a 60% A*-B range. I achieved a 2.i from Bristol University for chemistry and passed my PGCE and QTS without issue.
I like to work with students to ensure that they not only have the required syllabus knowledge but also build the ability to read the question properly and problem solve how to get even the hardest to achieve marks. Ensuring students have the right mindset to succeed. I use a range of techniques from ensuring students can explain and justify to using textbooks and molecular models to help understand what is going on in reactions.
