I am a pleasant, patient and inspiring individual who is vastly experienced in working with children from all ages and backgrounds.
I'm a graduate in Business Studies and experienced in working with children from Primary school to GCSE students.
With approximately four years working in a Secondary School and eight years as a private tutor, I have a very high understanding of how to work with young persons, getting the best out of them to achieve objectives. Having spent a considerable amount of time within the English department, I possess an in-depth understanding of the English syllabus within secondary schools and how students can achieve their desired grades.
I have also worked closely with students with specialist needs helping them to achieve and exceed expectations within the school environment.
Further, I am vastly experienced as a EFL tutor with 2,000+ recorded sessions online. This is supported by a 168 hour TEFL Certificate which has been obtained offline.
I have experience with the following exam boards:
- AQA
- Eduqas
- WJEC
Some of the Literature I've taught includes:
- Macbeth
- Romeo and Juliet
- Merchant of Venice
- An Inspector Calls
- A Christmas Carol
- Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
- Silas Marner
- Animal Farm
- Blood Brothers
- Lord of the Flies
- Much Ado About Nothing
- Great Expectations
I have worked for approximately ten years as a private tutor. This includes supporting students completing their 11+, KS3 and GCSE exams.
I have a vast amount of experience working with GCSE students and I'm also currently working with students in preparation for their upcoming examinations.
As mentioned above, I work with a range of age groups and I aim to tailor my lessons according to the needs of the students.
As a teaching assistant, I worked extensively with children on the SEN register and thus I'm well equipped to support students with physical and mental learning difficulties.
Working with various teachers over a number of years, I like to vary my approach from student to student in order to get the best out of my students.
However, I aim to take an encouraging and patient approach to teaching which involves students being given plenty of praise and encouragement to keep going. Making the learning environment fun and engaging for the students is a must and as a result, I aim to adjust tasks and lessons to keep the learning buzz going!
