A progressive and diligent, qualified English teacher with an ability to effectively communicate with students from diverse backgrounds. I pride myself on being passionate and devoted when it comes to teaching and learning. During my career in Education I have demonstrated on a number of occasions my ability to surpass expectations in delivering outstanding lessons. I am approachable and have the ability to build exceptional rapport with students and colleagues.
Upon receiving my teaching qualification in 2019 I have had the opportunity to develop my teaching professionalism in a number of different roles. Currently, I am employed as a Teacher of English at an outstanding school. As an English specialist I have planned and delivered several lessons in line with the AQA GCSE syllabus at KS4 and the national syllabus at KS3. I have had a prominent impact on pupil progress and attainment, which is evidenced by my latest GCSE results.
I have ample experience when it comes to teaching KS3 and KS4 the skills necessary to access and understand the National curriculum in English.
I have been responsible for planning and delivering literacy intervention to pupils at KS3.
Furthermore, as a subject specialist I have marked GCSE English papers for the AQA exam board and have used this knowledge and expertise to become a subject mentor to trainees in my department which I have found to be a rewarding endeavour.
My approach to tuition is tailored to the individual student dependent on ability. The skills I aim to teach range from language analysis, structural analysis, critical evaluation, creative writing and transactional writing; in line with the GCSE syllabus. I will use past papers, model answers and tailor made worksheets.
