Hello, I'm Austin! I hold a 1st class Masters degree in Mathematics from Imperial College, and I am currently completing my PhD at the University of Bath.
As a tutor, my approach is characterized by patience, kindness and attentiveness to each student. I carry enough experience and subject knowledge to genuinely tailor my lesson plans to each student, and to develop ambitious and achievable goals. Throughout my five years of tutoring experience I have developed a passion for helping students excel in mathematics and I have witnessed many students undergo remarkable transformations.

Tutoring Experience

-Five years of experience tutoring GCSE and A-levels students, many of whom went on to study at top universities.
-A year spent teaching at a high achieving London grammar school.
-Tutored an A-level student at an underachieving school who went on to study at Oxford university.
-Instructed at summer schools aimed at preparing students for top university entrance exams (STEP, MAT, TMUA).

Tutoring Approach

Above all I believe in patience and kindness when working with students. Mathematics is a difficult subject and discouraging experiences in the classroom can be a major obstacle to students progress.

I believe in pinpointing exactly a students need's and goals. I offer a free consultation session to discuss your childs situation, to assess possible strengths and weaknesses, and to get an idea of your ideal outcome.
The purpose of this is to develop genuinely achievable goals for the student that will make them, you, and me proud after we work together to achieve them. As a result students of any ability level gain a lot from my tutoring.

Most student's struggle in mathematics stems from some foundational concept which has been missed out on their journey. My job is to fix gaps in foundational knowledge and to reconcile these with the concepts they are learning currently. This leads to a confident student who is able to take their growth into their own hands.
