Student with the highest A* mark in the cohort at History A-Level and an A* at Economics A-Level whilst attending the Sunday Times State School of the Year.

I am looking to tutor in order to impart my knowledge on to the next generation whilst also helping to finance my higher education where I study history at a Russell Group university which is in the top 10 universities in the UK.

Tutoring Experience

I have recently started formally tutoring students but I was a part of clinics in which A-Level students helped children in younger years whilst I was in sixth form.

Tutoring Approach

I use focused, hour long sessions with clients in order to develop their historical knowledge and to help them with exam technique.

When it comes to doing well on History tests, essay writing practice is pivotal. I will regularly set students essays as part of their homework along with prereading on the content for the next lesson.

Economics is a very content heavy subject which requires students to do a lot of prereading before lessons so that we can cover content quickly. I will also ask students to write practice essays and find real life examples of economic situations which they can use in tests.

Being a student myself, I am able to empathise with the problems that learners may have and adapt my lessons in order to suit the needs of every individual. This allows me to create an excellent working environment where students naturally work hard and improve as historians, thus leading to better results.

For history, the exam board I have the most knowledge of is AQA, although I may be able to accommodate students from other exam boards.

At GCSE level, I specialise in teaching the AQA specification and the Germany (1890-1945), Cold War (1945-72) and Health and the people units.

For A-Level students, my main areas of expertise are Bolshevik and Stalinist Russia and Stuart Britain.

With regards to economics, I specialise in teaching OCR (J205) economics at GCSE level and Edexcel (9EC0) at A-level but I am flexible in adapting my knowledge to suit other exam boards.
