I live in Nuneaton with my husband and little girl, with a deep passion for helping children achieve academically so as to reach their full potential.
After qualifying in 2002, I have experienced all the changes in the National Curriculum and have practised and delivered numerous teaching and learning styles. Throughout my 20 years of teaching, I have been head of PSHE, ICT, RE and more recently for the last 10 years, I am the subject lead for Maths. I taught Year 6 for 8 years in a row and am well versed in what the outcomes at the end of key stage 2 look like. I have successfully implemented the Mastery approach in Maths in my current school and believe whole heartedly in the small steps approach.
I believe the small steps approach is fundamental to a deep understanding of any concept taught; that is the breaking down of knowledge to impart.
