I've attended QE Boys Grammar School, which is the highest performing state school in the UK. I've achieved 10 A*s and 2As (equivalent) at GCSE, 4 As at AS level (with A being the highest grade) and A*A*A at A level. This includes an A* in GCSE and A Level Economics. I graduated from the London School of Economics with a BSc in Economics and Economic History. I currently work in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) at a financial institution in the City of London.
Furthermore, I have 220+ hours of experience in teaching Economics to A-level students through running subject clinics at school, as well as tutoring 1-to-1 since 2018 from which I have received consistently positive feedback. I was also part of the first cohort of students to sit the new 9-1 GCSEs and thus have experienced the new syllabi first hand, which will be fundamental to a student's progress.
Every student I have taught A level Economics to on a one-to-one basis has achieved an A*/A, and has gone on to a Russell Group University
I believe that every child has the potential to learn - if they receive the right support. I aim to create an environment in which students are not afraid to ask questions that are 'unintelligent'. I believe that if a student asks a question about any topic in Economics, they are only asking a teacher since they want to learn - and I will enable your child to have the confidence to ask any question they may have, so they can maximise the benefits of their tutoring experience.
Specifically for Economics, I teach strictly to the specifications for all exam boards, as I have learnt that this is the most effective way of teaching from my own experiences. During lessons, students are guided through a PowerPoint on a specified topic in the exam board specification. This PowerPoint includes all required content, as well as exam style questions. After the lesson, students get access to the lesson's PowerPoint, typed notes for the topic and any other resources that were used during the lesson. Revision resources, past papers and essay practice is also regularly undertaken.
