I am a qualified and experienced teacher of ESOL (English to speakers of other languages). I gained my certificate in TESOL in 2005, from Sheffield Hallam University. This prepared me to teach General, and Business/Technical English to students of all ages and levels.
I am also a part time teaching assistant, experienced with primary and secondary students, including those with learning difficulties or Special Educational Needs. I am therefore able to support children with homework up to GCSE level.
I am a native English speaker.
Since 2005 I have taught English in England and France. This includes General English, Business/Technical English, and English to school children. I worked for 2 language schools: 1) A+English in Sheffield, England, where I taught groups of students from the Middle East wishing to study at Sheffield University, and 2) English Point in Dijon, France, where I travelled to workplaces to teach English to employees mainly in the logistics industry. While in France, I also taught classes of primary school children. I currently teach individuals privately.
I have taught footballers at Sheffield Wednesday FC!
I offer personalised courses. Your first lesson is free! I will assess your level of English, and you will tell me your requirements. We will then agree on how to proceed. You may wish to follow a course book, which I will provide, and supplement with fun games and activities. If you want to learn English in real situations, we can 'go shopping', for example, and arrange visits to places of interest. The focus is use of English for conversation, reading and writing. The approach is relaxed and friendly.
Children learn English with age-appropriate games and activities, with support for homework if needed.
