Annabel

Hello! I’m Annabel, a dedicated and enthusiastic primary school teacher based in Catford.

Having always dreamt of becoming a teacher, I began my BA in Education and Psychology at Durham University in 2016. Once I completed my degree I moved on to gain Qualified Teaching Status and have since worked in a range of primary schools across both KS1 and 2.

I find real joy in supporting children as they learn, grow, and discover their strengths. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s confidence flourish when something finally clicks, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of that journey both as a teacher and a tutor.

Tutoring Experience

I currently teach in Year 3 at an independent prep school in Dulwich, where I have the pleasure of helping young learners grow in confidence and curiosity every day. I take great pride in equipping each of my pupils with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive on their personal academic journey.

Whilst I teach across the primary curriculum, my specialism is English - including comprehension, creative writing, phonics, editing skills, SPaG and handwriting.

Tutoring Approach

With several years of classroom experience, I understand how to tailor lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles. Through my creative and personalised approach to teaching, I am able to meet every child where they are in their learning. I strongly believe that there is no such thing as a 'one size fits all' approach.

I’m passionate about creating a supportive and engaging environment, whether in classroom or during one-to-one tutoring sessions. I specialise in building strong foundations in English and Maths, preparing for 7+ and 11+ exams, and boosting general academic confidence.
