Home Tuition for Special Needs in Canonbury

Experienced tutor and therapeutic practitioner that is engaging and focused on helping young people reach their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I’m an Assistant Educational Psychologist with hands-on experience in varying assessments, therapeutic interventions, and learning strategy development to support students with diverse needs. I also train teachers and parents struggling with children's learning and behaviour, ensuring they have the right tools to foster progress.

Previously, as an Assistant SENCo, I led learning support for students with SEN, SEMH, and medical needs, designing provision maps and individualized learning plans to target specific challenges. I also facilitated interventions across literacy, numeracy, social skills, and mental health, while advising parents and teachers on managing behaviour, engagement, and learning difficulties.

In addition to my school-based roles, I have two years of experience as an SEN/SEMH tutor, delivering one-to-one and group tuition in English, Maths, in addition to, communication and interaction and life skills for students with autism, ADHD, anxiety, emotional dysregulation conditions, and complex medical needs.

My expertise extends to CBT, counselling, third-wave psychological interventions, and ABA tutoring, having trained in a private clinic and delivered therapy to young people experiencing anxiety, depression and anger management difficulties, as well as having worked within the NHS Neurodevelopmental Department on Autism cases. These experiences provide me with a deep understanding of behaviour, emotional resilience, and effective learning strategies, ensuring that every student I support receives tailored, psychologically informed guidance to help them thrive.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that learning should be engaging, peaceful, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. My approach prioritises individualised, interest-based learning, ensuring that lessons are meaningful, relatable, and paced appropriately to foster confidence and progress.

I incorporate diverse teaching methods to enhance cognitive processing and retention, making learning both dynamic and effective. Beyond academics, I integrate psychological strategies—including elements of behaviour management—to help students develop self-expression, resilience, and communication skills.

Above all, I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where students feel understood, motivated, and empowered to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
