Online English Tuition

I am an experienced and qualified secondary English teacher with a BA in English Literature and Philosophy, a Masters in Education, and an MSc in Child Development from UCL. Trained through the highly regarded Teach First programme, I have over 9 years of teaching and tutoring experience, during which I have consistently demonstrated creativity, subject expertise, and a commitment to student success. My passion for education has earned me an 'Outstanding' rating from my employers.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in mainstream and special schools across both the North and London, working with students from Year 7 to Year 13. With extensive training and experience in delivering the 1-9 GCSE and A-Level curriculum across all exam boards, I am well-versed in tailoring my approach to meet diverse student needs.

With over 9 years of tutoring experience, including roles at reputable tuition companies, I have worked with students of varying abilities. I have also received specialised training in supporting EAL (English as an Additional Language) students and those with SEND.

My commitment to student success is reflected in my proven track record, with all of my most recent pupils meeting or exceeding the expected levels of progress.

Tutoring Approach

My goal is to inspire a genuine love of learning in my students, particularly for the subject I teach. I relish the opportunity to challenge their thinking, encouraging them to question authors' motives while developing and expressing their own interpretations. I place great emphasis on using relatable, current analogies to make concepts more accessible, ensuring students not only grasp the task at hand but also enjoy articulating their opinions within the assessment framework.

To me, English is like being a detective: it’s about forming a theory, gathering evidence, and clearly explaining how that evidence supports and strengthens your ideas.
