Currently Head of Maths in a local school with 28 Years teaching experience. Can offer expert tuition at ALL levels (KS3 and KS4) and Core, Statistics and Decision at AS / A Level.
In 2011 was nominated for a national teaching award, 2015 finalist in Teacher of the year - and believe that confidence is the key to success in Mathematics. Through tutoring the confidence of the student is built up so improvements can be made.

Tutoring Experience

28 Years teaching experience in 11-18 schools in England, Wales and New Zealand.
Nominated for a national teaching award in 2011 and recently graded as 'Outstanding' by ofsted.
Currently teaching in a local school. Have 14 years experience of leading a department.(head of department) Current department is rated 2nd for value added in Herefordshire and in the top 14% nationally. 2014 department achieved 86% A*-C. 2015 department achieved 80.3% A*-C and 100% further maths GCSE. In 2016 department achieves 77%, and is one of a few departments nationally to reverse the attainment gap between disadvantaged students.....every student counts.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring works around the philosophy that confident students in Mathematics are more likely to make progress in the subject. If enjoyment is there students tend to do better. My aim is to build the confidence so that the student can develop their mathematical understanding with a solid base.In 2014 -2022 all tutees achieved higher than target grades. Tutoring is an investment in your childs future, i will ensure this investment produces the required results.
