Our son wanted to consolidate his learning and gain more confidence in preparation for his Math's GCSE. Andy has provided excellent tutoring and encouragement and our son really enjoys working with him. Our son has always been quite good at Math's but he now feels so much more confident in reviewing and editing his work which is obviously vital for gaining a better understanding. He wants to pursue A Level Mathematics so he will now have a fantastic foundation on which to build. We highly recommend Andy, he is friendly, approachable and overall has encouraged our son to be confident in his abilities.

Thank you Sarah - it is always a pleasure and very rewarding to help some-one with your sons enthusiasm for Mathematics. We have also had a lot of fun together along the way which is very important. He should do very well.

Andy is a great tutor. He works well with my daughter to help explain the work and improve her confidence in maths. He sets any extra work to do between lessons and has a lot of resources to hand. He helps with any homework and is available to contact with help by email. Already I have seen a marked improvement in her work.

I asked my son, (age 13), who is Andy's student, and he said "Andy is a good tutor. He stops if you don't understand things and goes back over it."

As a Mum, I would add that Andy is punctual, well organised, clearly knows his maths (I sit in the lesson), patient, is increasing my son's confidence and is hugely valued in our house.

As a parent, I now understand, in some detail, how my son is performing in the maths subjects he is supposed to know in school and having this knowledge is hugely reassuring because we now know what topics we need to re-visit and what my son is doing ok in.

Maths was my sons favourite subject, until he started his AS. The jump is steep, and teaching is fast so with the other distractions of college life he found himself behind and felt totally out of his depth.
Within just a few sessions, Andy has supported my son to regain his confidence, unlock his abilities and regain his passion for maths.
Andy's sessions are engaging and fun, you could mistakenly think they were playing a game of cards hearing them at work. I only agreed to write a review with a promise from Andy that he'd continue to have time to support my son at A2. I could not recommend him highly enough. Thanks Andy!

From our first correspondence, to meeting, to booking lessons, Andy has been thoroughly approachable, relaxed and professional.
Andy has worked with my son for a whole term now. My 11 year old's outlook on maths has gone from "I can't do it" to "I want to try some more".
We wanted to build confidence and not have maths be a problem subject moving up through the years. Andy has certainly achieved that and hearing the chatter during a lesson I know that he has built up a great rapport with my son. He can even persevere through a grumpy blip and still get my son laughing by the end. A skill that not everyone possesses.
After one of the lessons before Christmas, my son said, "That was the best lesson yet!" with a big smile on his face.
My son has moved up 2 maths groups. The beginning of year 7, new school and pre tests that didn't show an outstanding result meant he was put in a lower group. I believe that, Andy's careful explanations and his understanding of how to pitch his teaching methods to each individual student has been the winning factor for the fantastic progression we have seen.
So glad we found you Andy.
