I am a graduate mechanical engineer and a qualified teacher. I find the challenge of developing a personal learning plan for individual students extremely satisfying.
I am dedicated to enabling each student achieve their personal goals. This is something which also gives me great satisfaction. It is very rewarding to know that you have contributed to a students future by enabling them to gain the qualifications and experience necessary to go on in life in their chosen direction.
Some feedback from parents:
'Thank you for all your amazing teaching, you may have changed ***s life. She now gets Maths. Considering when ..she was underperforming in Maths, it's a blummin' miracle!!! Well done to your teaching skills. Many, many thanks.' (This student achieved a Grade 8 and went on to do A' level and Further Maths.

I have taught in a private school for ten years, initially maths and then physics as well. This was at KS3 and GCSE levels. My physics lessons got a special mention in the schools OFSTED report. I have also run training programmes, conferences and workshops for adults outside of the school environment which have been very successful.
I have also been teaching A'Level Maths and am happy to offer A' level Year 1 (AS)
I have been tutoring for about 5 years.
My approach to tutoring is to firstly diagnose the individuals motivation and learning style so that I can a)share and own their goals and aspirations and b) teach in a way that they will most naturally learn.
I would also diagnose a student's current level of ability and skills profile so as to know what areas to focus on. This would include, not only specific topics but also study techniques so as to gain maximum benefit from tutorials. These skills are transferable to other topics as well.
I aim to develop the weaker areas of knowledge and for students to master the topics in such a way that interest grows and they can think with the material not just memorise it. Aquiring the knowledge and remembering it is one level, being fluent in the concepts such that you can make connections and think with the knowledge you have gained is another level of competence.
