I am a retired mathematics teacher with over 20 years of teaching experience, mostly at independent schools.
I am married and have three grown up children.
I live in Hampton, Middlesex quite close to the station.
My preference is to teach students at my home.
Very occasionally I will agree to teach art the students home, but will charge extra for the travel time involved.

Tutoring Experience

3 years at Eton College
6 Years at Hampton School
12 Years at St George's College, Weybridge.
Finally, two more years, part-time back at Hampton School.
I have mostly taught the Edexcel syllabus but have familiarity with the requirements of other boards.
I have taught most of the Further Mathematics modules and helped students to prepare for STEP papers for entrance to Oxford and Cambridge and other universities.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to adjust my teaching to the needs of the student. Often it is supporting their work at school, making sure that newly covered topics are well understood. Practice in answering examination stye questions is often wanted and my experience as an examination marker can help in showing students how to approach their solutions.
