I am a Primary School Teacher with LOTS of experience in KS1 and KS2. I have English degrees from Lancaster and Liverpool and a PGCE from MMU. I'm relaxed, funny, engaging and good at breaking down learning into small steps so that children can make rapid progress. I'm also great at spotting the small gaps in knowledge that need to be filled in order for children to progress.

Tutoring Experience

I am a Primary School teacher with 10 years of experience under my belt, having started teaching as a career change. I have seen both my sons through the Entrance Exams and understand what these entail. I also have a really good understanding of the foundational knowledge that children need in order to thrive and flourish at school.

Tutoring Approach

For children to learn they need to feel happy, safe and secure. They also need to believe in themselves - to have the confidence to take some risks, to make mistakes and so learn. I focus on all this first and spend a bit of time working out what they know and where the gaps are. After that they can begin to make big strides in their learning.
