I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher who is enthusiastically committed to the teaching and learning of children. Having taught various age and ability levels, I ensure the individual development of each child so that they can realise and fulfil their own unique talents.
I have a extensive experience in delivering the National Curriculum in a range of settings, whilst developing the highest of standards in children.
As a mother myself, I appreciate the concerns many parents have regarding their child's academic progress and, more importantly, happiness at school. I work in liaison with parents and children to build the child's confidence through engaging and carefully selected resources.
I have 10 years of experience, teaching in primary schools across Chester. I have taught in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two, and currently have responsibility for a Year 4 class. I also have experience preparing children for their Year 2 and Year 6 SATs.
I have extensive experience of working with children experiencing a wide range of behavioural and learning needs, including those with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I have also worked with individuals with sensory differences, including the blind and partially sighted.
Developing a child's confidence in their own abilities forms the basis of my approach, helping them to develop a positive and enthusiastic mindset towards their learning. Tapping into my pupils' interests allows me to build strong relationships with them, ensuring they are comfortable, content and ready to learn.
I offer reading, writing and maths support, regular assessment and feedback, parental support and guidance, homework support and SATs preparation.
I set realistic, measurable and challenging targets for children and work with parents and carers to review these on a regular basis. I keep parents informed at each stage of the tutoring process, to ensure they are happy with how their child is progressing. I review and adapt my approach regularly to ensure the individuals needs of your child are met.
