I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher who is enthusiastically committed to the teaching and learning of children. Having taught various age and ability levels, I ensure the individual development of each child so that they can realise and fulfil their own unique talents.
I have extensive experience in delivering the National Curriculum in a range of settings, while developing the highest standards in children.
As a mother myself, I appreciate the concerns many parents have regarding their child’s academic progress and, more importantly, their happiness at school. I work in liaison with parents and children to build the child’s confidence through engaging and carefully selected activities and resources.
I have 10 years of experience teaching in primary schools across Chester. I have taught in both Key Stage One and Key Stage Two and currently have responsibility for a Year 4 class. I also have experience preparing children for their Year 2 and Year 6 SATs.
I have extensive experience working with children with a wide range of behavioural and learning needs, including children with Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I have also worked with individuals with sensory differences, including those who are blind or partially sighted.
Developing a child's confidence in their own abilities forms the foundation of my approach, helping them to foster a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards learning. By tapping into each pupil's individual interests, I build strong, trusting relationships that ensure they feel comfortable, valued and ready to learn.
I offer tailored support in reading, writing and maths, along with regular assessment and feedback, homework guidance, SATs preparation, and ongoing support for parents and carers.
I set realistic, measurable and appropriately challenging targets for each child, and work in close partnership with parents and carers to review progress regularly. I keep families informed at every stage of the tutoring process to ensure they feel reassured and confident in their child’s development. My approach is flexible and reflective, regularly reviewed and adapted to meet the unique needs of every child.
