My name is Amy. I'm a professional artist with a degree in fine art www.amycummins.co.uk and I hold a PGCE teaching qualification for which I studied for two years with Plymouth University. I am a very caring, patient and understanding person with a great deal of empathy. I have excellent communication skills and also studied English Literature and Media Studies at degree level. I am very good at maths and English.
I have taught children art as well as adults with mental health problems and learning disabilities. I have taught conversational English to students in Japan from the age of three to adult.
I have teaching experience working with post 16 students at Exeter College on the Access to Art courses and Foundation studies.
I have experience of private tuition working with two children with behavioural problems.
My approach to teaching is holistic, taking into consideration the needs of the individual student. I make learning fun and accessible and target my teaching at the right level for the student.
