Online English and Japanese Lessons

Enthusiastic tutor offering:
- English lessons for GCSE
Classics lessons for GCSE and A Level
- Beginners level Japanese for adult learners

I am a multipotentialite and keen learner, motivated by my own curiosity, and that of others. I thrive when interacting with others, and am a friendly, patient and empathetic person. I look for the positives in life and encourage others to do the same, recognising their great qualities and potential.

Tutoring Experience

  • I have taught several lessons in piano, ukulele and English via the online platform Cafetalk (2015-2016)
  • As an Assistant Language Teacher on the JET Programme, I taught English to children aged 5-16 alongside Japanese Teachers of English. (2019-2021) During this time, I studied Japanese both independently and with native speakers, earning the N3 JLPT (intermediate) certification. I am currently working towards taking the N2 (Business level) in 2024.
  • I have taught 60+ hours of English and Classics lessons at GCSE and A Level on the platform Removed receiving all 5* reviews and 6 repeat students (2022)
  • I have recently begun teaching beginners' level Japanese to adult students

Tutoring Approach

I first consult with prospective students to find out what their needs are, then plan my lessons accordingly. I use PowerPoint slides to make resources for use in lessons, which I share with students so they can access them during their own time as well. I first talk the student through the structure of the lesson, ask them if they have any questions, and then proceed with the lesson. I will work through various activities with the student, allowing them to offer their own ideas, so the lessons are more interactive than 'lecture-style'. I give students homework or optional tasks to supplement their learning between lessons.
