I am an enthusiastic, committed, qualified teacher with a passion for learning. I enjoy giving everyone that I work with confidence and enjoyment in all that they do. I live in Hove with my husband and children, and I enjoy yoga, baking, reading and being at the beach.
I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience across KS1, 2 and 3. I have been tutoring children for many years, which has involved helping them to catch up with schoolwork, supporting learning during times that they are unable to access school, or generally building their confidence.
I have a Masters in Education, with a focus on SEN, and have experience working with children with a wide variety of different needs. As I am currently available during the school day, I am regularly supporting children and young people who are unable to access school due to social, emotional and mental health difficulties or struggles with their current setting. I can be flexible with length and duration of sessions, providing short term blocks to those who are waiting to find the right placement, or being educated at home full time but need a boost in a particular area.
I am experienced in working with children to prepare for entrance exams/11+. I am happy to provide long term support, or a short term block of booster sessions, to increase confidence and practise techniques.
I have also supported several adults who were preparing to take the professional skills tests in literacy and numeracy, or boost their confidence generally.
I strive to ensure my lessons are well structured, well resourced, memorable and fun. I feel that being able to receive 1:1 tailored support gives everyone the best opportunity to succeed.
