Hi, I’m Amarjot and I’m a student at Imperial College studying Mechanical Engineering. I developed an interest in maths and science during school and spent a lot of time studying independently and discovering the best ways to learn for myself. I believe each person learns in their own way and with the right guidance everyone can succeed. After tutoring GCSE students at my school whilst doing my A Levels I developed my skills as a tutor. I understood how different students have different areas that they need to work on and I believe 1-on-1 tutoring is the perfect way to address these areas so students can excel.
2 years tutoring GCSE students who were not expected to achieve their targets whilst completing my A Levels.
2 years tutoring exceptionally bright GCSE students ANF teaching them A Level content whilst I was completing my A Levels.
My main approach in tutoring is to create a comfortable environment for the student so they can ask any questions and to communicate effectively so I can understand where they need help. Some students may lack confidence due to being behind in a subject so I believe in tailoring lessons to their individual pace to explain the subject in a way they can grasp. My approach is to try teach students how to study as well as what to study so students are equipped with the skills they need to independently study too. I think patience is key in tutoring so students learn in the most effective way possible for them.
