Hello I’m Amanda, a qualified and experienced primary school teacher and tutor. I offer 1:1 face-to-face personalised tuition to support Reception, KS1 and KS2 children with reading, writing and maths. I can travel to your home or teach from my home in Exeter.

Tutoring Experience

I have 10+ years of experience teaching in three different primary schools in Surrey and Devon. I have taught children with a range of SEND and adapt my tuition accordingly. I can support pupils to prepare for the 7+ or 8+ entrance exams and have daytime availability for home educated children.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is fun, practical and tailored to each individual. I use a wide range of resources and games to bring learning to life, secure key concepts and boost pupils’ confidence. I take the time to get to know what motivates each student, discover how they like to learn and continually assess progress to determine the next steps in their learning. My ultimate aim is to give each individual the skills and self-confidence to overcome their academic challenges.
