I am a secondary school teacher in the Bath and Wiltshire area. I have experience teaching in a range of schools that has lead me to become confident in adapting my teaching styles to particular student needs. I am able to offer 1:1 tutoring whether a student has been absent from lessons, misunderstood topics, struggled with exam techniques or simply wishes to improve overall achievement.

I am enthusiastic and am committed to raising achievement within the subject. This is largely due to my strong belief that Business is an integral part of a students' future life, whether they continue within the industry or another, every workplace operates as a Business and a clear understanding of the subject can contribute towards success in the workplace.

Tutoring Experience

I first started tutoring when I was completing my undergraduate degree in Business and Management. I then put tutoring on hold whilst completing my PGCE in Secondary Business Education and during my first year of teaching. The school I am currently teaching at is one where, on average, students are high achievers due to the structure and consistent approach to teaching throughout the school. Historically, I have worked very closely with line managers in creating schemes of work for the Edexcel Business GCSE and A Level specifications and the AQA GCSE specification and teach these; therefore my knowledge of them and the examiners expectations is solid.

I have now decided to take up tutoring again as I am able to dedicate a substantial amount of time and effort into designing tutoring sessions for specific students.

Tutoring Approach

In my experience, the students who approach learning with a positive attitude and willingness to learn are more likely to achieve. I have the same view of teaching, when approached with a positive attitude and willingness to encourage learning the teaching is more likely to lead to positive results. I intend to do exactly this through building positive rapport with tutees and getting to know their individual learning needs.
