Tutoring Experience
I have taught in two different types of school: state and independent. I spent six years in a comprehensive school in London and eleven years in an independent school in Sussex. Each school has helped me to develop as a teacher in different ways. In the latter I have used a softer approach, where more individual attention is needed and catering for individual learners was essential. The state school taught me rigour and discipline.
Tutoring Approach
Throughout my career in education, my aim has been to improve student performance by improving the quality of their learning experience. Furthermore, I am a firm believer that the most significant influence upon student attainment is the teacher.I teach mathematics up to A-level which I thoroughly enjoy. I employ a range of methods in order to help students make links between the various areas of the curriculum, as well as guiding them through more and more sophisticated concepts and activities
