A French native speaker and a passionate qualified French teacher with 9 years teaching experience. Worked as a GCSE writing examiner for AQA (2018, 19, 22 series). Teaching up to GCSE and A Level with excellent results in school and with tutees.
I have studied English and Spanish at Master's level in France, and completed my PGDipEd and my MA Teaching Studies at the University of Birmingham.
I speak five languages: French, English, Spanish, Sinhala and Mauritian Creole and I am currently learning Italian so as well as being a teacher, as a learner I understand the challenges that students are faced with when learning a language.
I am Deputy Head of Languages/Head of French and I teach French up to GCSE and A Level.
I have excellent knowledge of the AQA specification through my teaching but also my examiner experience which has helped me to understand the specification even better. I have attended several training sessions for all 4 skills as well. I also have experience of the Edexcel specification through tutoring several students, again with excellent results (all 9s).
I have six years tutoring experience, and I have been tutoring over 25 students, including 2 A Level students that needed my help to improve their French to go to Cambridge and Oxford and GCSE students who improved their confidence, use of grammar, vocabulary and exam skills considerably whilst working with me.
I am willing to travel 3 miles for free, but there will be a small charge if I have to travel more.
I am a passionate teacher who strives to make my subject interesting and engaging to students as well as pushing them to achieve their very best. Having taught the current specification for more than 6 years, I can confidently say that I know the specification in and out and therefore know exactly what to work on to achieve the highest grades.
