I love my subject and I really enjoy getting the best out of my students, seeing them gain top grades but also boosting their confidence through improving their English skills.
My students enjoy my classes and my tutor sesssions as they are about listening to their needs, providing encouragement, building self esteem in English and tailoring my teaching to how they learn best.
At the same time, I share my expert knowledge of the syllabus, examiner expectations and requirements for exam success whilst ensuring that my students have an academic and purposeful lesson, whether this is for the 11+, common entrance, GCSE or A Level.
I am an experienced English teacher, having taught in high attaining girls' grammar schools, top girls' Catholic secondary schools and in the international school sector over the last 25 years. I am currently a senior leader and teacher if English in an over subscribed and very succesful all girls' 11 to 18 Catholic secondary school.
I have plenty of experience of tutoring individual students.
I ensure that my students' have the confidence to analyse and express themselves with articulacy when discussing and writing about literature.
I have a listening ear and supportive, encouraging approach to overcoming the blocks which some students may be experiencing when being able to answer exam questions under timed conditions.
I believe in all of my students' potential and ability to achieve well and ensure that my one to one tutored lessons are well planned and structured to meet parent and student goals.
