This is a very strange and unexpected outcome. On the day this feedback was posted Helen texted the following message to me. I have copied the massage and my response.

Responding to this text message, this is a disappointing outcome. I have reverted to my records and, just to set the record straight, the lesson I gave on Saturday 2 March was not the first lesson. The first lesson took place on Saturday 2 February 2018, which you sat in on. Leading up to that the rate for my lessons was negotiated at £30.00 an hour. As you may recall I gave that lesson as a trial 1 hour lesson at half my rate, on the basis that if you found it satisfactory, you would call me back for further lessons and pay me £15.00 for that lesson and future lessons would be at my full rate. In the event that you found my lesson unsatisfactory I would write of the cost of that lesson and you could proceed to find another tutor.
You did message me back and we arranged to have 2 hour sessions on the basis that I would give each of your daughters an hour’s tuition. It is for that reason that I returned on 2 March and gave, what I believe to be, 2 satisfactory lessons. At the end of the lesson, when I asked for my fees, you declined to give me cash, as you argued that you would refer to make payment by bank transfer. You offered as an explanation that in future you might not be in, when I gave the girls lessons. We agreed that 2 hourly lessons would proceed in future on a fortnightly basis. That evening I sent you an e-mail confirming this and forwarded you my bank details. I also sent emails to your girls clarifying some issues raised in their lessons as well as some homework for them to tackle. You acknowledged receipt of the emails. I see that you paid me £50 on the 4th March. For which I thank you. I will waive payment of the £15 for my first lesson. I am disappointed by this outcome and also by the desultory feedback you have provided. I am keen to understand specifically what your concerns were so I can address them.
