I am a Teacher of Mathematics with a passion for teaching and tutoring, I have over 10 years experience in Maths tutoring
I graduated with a BSc in Mathematics (first class honours) and then I moved on to do a PGCE (secondary) Mathematics (teacher training). I finished this course in June 2007. During the last few years I have also completed postgraduate studies.
After graduating I have taught at three different schools. At these schools I had a range of classes (from year 7 upto A-Level). I did have several top set classes at KS3 and KS4, so there is alot of presure to perform.
Please state the following in your first message for the person whom requires tutoring:
1. Current year at school
2. Current level/grade or attainment
3. If in year 9/10 or 11 whether they are doing Foundation or Higher Tier. Or if A-Level which module they need help with i.e. C1, or C2 or S1 etc
4. Whether they have any special needs
Thank you
Make sure that the basics are right before moving onto the more difficult work.
Listen to what the pupils feel they need to improve on and then focus on these topics and exam technique especially with the functional skills questions.
