I am a primary school teacher with 18 years experience.
I am passionate about learning! Every child (and adult!) should be given the opportunity to achieve their full potential. I believe one to one support allows children to make outstanding progress.
Many children have barriers making it difficult for them to understand one concept or another - I believe breaking down these barriers and building confidence, as well as a 'can do' approach, will assist children overcoming future difficulties in their learning.
I am very experienced primary school teacher. I have taught in all Key stage 2 year groups (P4,5,6 and 7).
I have extensive knowledge of the end of year tests and transfer tests. Using my professional judgement I will be able to give you an accurate assessment of what level your child is currently - we can then discuss next steps and what we hope to achieve in each tutoring session.
Reading, writing, mathematics and science are the main areas of the primary curriculum your child is assessed on. I offer tutoring in all areas and to all age groups.
I am happy to tutor one to one or in small groups of up to 4.
I believe clear and achieveable steps are the key to success. I plan each session carefully considering the needs of each learner and can adapt teaching within the lesson to suit the learners needs at the time. I am happy to provide a plan of what I intend to teach and when. I think this forward planning is essential for success.
