Hi, I’m Agata. I’m a friendly and supportive maths tutor with a background in civil and structural engineering. I’ve always enjoyed helping others learn, and after completing my Master’s degree and spending six years working as an engineer, I decided to bring that experience into tutoring. I love showing students that maths isn’t just about numbers, it’s about problem-solving, patterns, and learning how to think in new ways.

I have a master in Structural Engineering from Newcastle University and I have completed a TEFL certificate to teach english as a foreign language.

I love helping students see the purpose behind what they’re learning, so I often use practical examples from engineering and everyday life to show how maths is used in the real world. Whether it’s percentages, graphs, or geometry, I aim to make every topic relevant and engaging.

My teaching style is discovery-led — I prompt students to think independently, ask questions, and find patterns for themselves. I also use visual diagrams, sketches, and clear explanations to break down complex ideas. Lessons often include mini challenges like timed problems, puzzles, or “teach it back to me” moments to check understanding. I’m supportive, friendly, and genuinely love helping students enjoy maths. For those preparing for exams, I offer focused sessions using past papers, timing strategies, and exam technique.
