My name is Adenike, and I am 31 years old who has worked in a male prison teaching Mathematics and English for over 5 years, whilst currently working as a Data Scientist for a government organisation.
I am an approachable, patient and positive tutor, with over 12 years of experience supporting students to achieve their target grades and build confidence in their chosen subject.
I have a distinct and varied educational background where I have studied psychology, biomedical science, and data science to a degree level.
I studied Biomedical Science at Cardiff University. Gaining a BSc with Honours. I studied an MSc in Psychology, graduating from the University of East London with a merit.
I also studied an MSc in Applied Data Science, graduating from Essex University with a Distinction.
I thoroughly enjoy tutoring, and helping students reach their full potential is incredibly fulfilling and a real pleasure to me. I will always put in my full effort to help any student, no matter the ability to understand any concept.
I have a wide range of experience with students of varied backgrounds, from prisoners with learning difficulties to students preparing for their university exams.
I have over 12 years of tutoring experience, teaching students aged 5 to 19 mostly in Mathematics, English and Sciences.
From my wealth of experience teaching a wide range of students over a decade, I can easily engage well with students, where I implement a variety of engaging teaching strategies.
I make the subject easy to understand breaking it down in simple terms and using real world examples.
From there I develop the student’s problem-solving skills, which then enables the student to apply their knowledge to any exam question.
From gaining multiple degrees, I am able to have a well-rounded and in depth understanding of various subjects.
I can apply this breadth of knowledge to other fields. Seeing the wide applications of the subject first hand, and I am passionate about sharing this skillset.
I take a friendly approach to tutoring, using approaches and resources appropriate to the student and course content.
I deliver support to students with weak study areas and help them acquire a better understanding and increase their confidence in the understanding of the subject
I often converse with the parents to inform them on their child’s progress and what I am to do in each lesson.
