Adam

A professional tutor with a Masters in Mathematics. Adam has a wide experience of teaching and tutoring all ages and abilities.

As well as teaching pupils in the classroom and private tutoring, he loves to facilitate learning in the outdoors environment. Be it bushcraft in a forest, navigation on a hill, wild camping on the moors, skills in the mountains or climbing on rock.

Tutoring Experience

Tutoring for 8 years with great success in boosting confidence; improving skills and knowledge; developing speed and fluency in the subject; increasing results in exams by several grades. I have had students from 9 year olds to career changers; tutoring Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Economics; from primary age to undergraduate level but with the majority at GCSE and A Level.

I have also worked as a maths teacher in a variety of secondary schools. I volunteered in several capacaties at primary school including language support, helping KS1 Polish pupils with EAL. I also speak fluent Polish.

In addition, I do a lot of work with children of all ages through the scouting movement from helping with Beavers (6-8) to being a leader for Explorer Scouts (14-18) and teach them a wide variety of indoor and outdoor skills including camping, climbing, kayaking and mountaineering.

I have a masters degree, safeguarding training, 1st Aid, DBS and (most importantly) lots of happy customers!

Tutoring Approach

I am dynamic and always tailor the teaching to the student. We will look at different ways to approach questions, a deeper understanding of the topics, fluency, exam technique and strategies for working independantly. I like to make use of analogies, diagrams and practical resources where they can be useful.
