I am currently Head of Geography at a successful and over-subscribed school in Leeds, and have been teaching in a number of schools for the last 16 years. I currently teach the AQA specification at GCSE and the Edexcel specification at A Level. I have also tutored the AQA specification at A Level and Edexcel A and B at GCSE.
Tutoring Experience
I have taught Geography to all ages and ranges of ability upto A Level. I am currently Head of Geography and have an excellent record of exam success. I have examined for AQA at GCSE level and Edexcel at A Level for several years, and have gained a valuable insight into exam technique and the skills required to succeed. In 2019 I gained the Specialist Leader of Education qualification through the YTSA. This has allowed me to support Geography departments in a variety of schools across Yorkshire to improve results and support student progress.
Tutoring Approach
I have a very patient and understanding approach to tutoring, and like to use humour as a way of overcoming difficulties. I use a variety of methods to explain difficult concepts and like to focus on the techniques required to succeed in exams - interpreting the question,responding to resources etc.
