Abubakar

Hello! My name is Abubakar Removed and I am a medical student at Imperial College London. I have enjoyed my course so far and would love to motivate others to take my path. I love swimming and was previously in a swimming club for 5 years participating in competitions. Right now, I work as a swimming teacher, making swimming entertaining for children and improving their skills. The reason I went into tutoring is due to the desire to share my knowledge with others and to motivate them to study and reach above their potential to achieve the best grades.

I developed a talent and passion for maths when I got to high school, where I enjoyed problem solving. Later in high school, during the pandemic, I became interested in science and certain aspects and the news drew me to Medicine, alongside the volunteering and work experience I had done. At the moment, some specialties I am thinking of going into are surgery (maybe neurosurgery), paediatrics or endocrinology. There are a wide variety of options out there.

Tutoring Experience

Exam boards - Edexcel, AQA, OCR for Biology, Chemistry and Maths, and Eduqas for Biology

For 4 years, I have been tutoring students Maths, Biology and Chemistry (A-Level and GCSE, with 9s and A*s in all of them) in a variety of exam boards. This includes times in year 10 tutoring years below and in my year, to sixth form tutoring high school students, and to online tutoring on a wider scale Removed I like to ask students what they would like to go through to allow them to take control of their learning and identify their weaknesses, and we can go through exam questions if they wish to at the beginning, or slowly build up to them.

Tutoring Approach

My typical lesson is usually a recap from my previous lesson, and an introduction to a topic with worked examples for the student and opportunities to do exam questions on the topic, whilst giving them their strengths, improvements and key take away points at the end of every lesson. I am a very passionate tutor and would like to impact as many people as possible.
