Hello! I am a friendly, enthusiastic teacher with 20 years of experience who loves to see my students develop in skill and confidence. I am a professional singer, composition examiner and Head of Music at an outstanding 6th Form College in London.

Tutoring Experience

I am very experienced in teaching all aspects of the A Level and GCSE Music course - Theory, Composing, Analysing and Performing. I have taught the Edexcel, AQA and Eduqas exam boards and I am currently a composition examiner for Eduqas. I am also very experienced in teaching younger children as I taught Musicianship (theory and aural) in a Saturday music school for 10 years to children aged 3 to 16. I also teach singing from beginner to professional level in all styles and piano to grade 6.

Tutoring Approach

I meet the student where they are - adapting teaching methods and resources to meet their learning styles and interests.
When teaching analysis and composition I often use film music and pop music examples to motivate the learner. When teaching piano and singing i seek out repertoire that will inspire and motivate the student.
