I am a young teacher who has an interest in supporting as many children as I can and ensuring they flourish within their own education. Although I don’t have any of my own children, I am close with family members and enjoy spending time with them. I am often known to be having a duvet day as a way of relaxing from a hard week of work.
I am currently undertaking my sixth year teaching and was encouraged to think about this as a way of sharing my passion for maths. In school myself my class are often outside and using these environments for their understanding before moving into the reasoning of why they do it in such a way. I am currently teaching a year 3class, but have had experience in year 1, 4, 5 and 6.
I enjoy being active with the children and taking them outside in order for them to fully understand a concept. I don’t like a worksheet and prefer to have a range of options available so the child can match their work to their ability. I don’t believe that one child will always struggle with the same subjects. In my own experience they may find one topic tricky but another may be more suited to them!
